A Civil War Era Ladies Group
Learn about American history by experiencing it. The historic Caledonian Relief Society was a group formed by the wives, mothers, sisters and sweethearts of the men that went to fight in the Civil War. At Civil War Reenactments the ladies of the CRS maintain a camp that is as authentic as possible; from the clothes we wear, the activities we do, and environment we create. We do take advantage of a few modern conveniences such as flushing bathroom facilities, coolers with ice, and coffee creamer.
The CRS is part of a non-profit youth organization, the Cameron Highlanders of the Northwest. As a group we focus on developing good character traits such as honor, integrity, and loyalty. Most importantly we want to create a family atmosphere where young ladies can learn about, not only the history of our country, but also the history of women. If you are interested in participating in a reenactment, please feel free to contact us.
